NTPA Safety Protocol Update
The North Texas Performing Arts Covid-19 Task Force of 30 medical doctors, legal counsel, board members and others meets weekly to update our safety protocols so that we can provide the safest possible environment for our students and patrons.
Those protocols have allowed us to reopen and enjoy over 35,000 visitors, 120 productions and almost 1,000 performances in our spaces without incident.
Based on CDC, state and local guidance the NTPA Task Force has developed a 5-Phase Drawdown Strategy that will gradually move our safety protocols to normalcy.
These 5 phases will allow NTPA to roll-back policies in a safe and deliberate manner. Each phase will be adopted based on the current test, hospitalization, and vaccine rates along with guidance from the CDC and other agencies.
Protocol Drawdown Phase 4
Effective July 1, 2021
- For the foreseeable future, actors may continue to wear a mask in any production and shall face no discrimination, sanctions or efforts to persuade otherwise.

Productions performing after July 1 will be designated as “mask required” or “mask optional on stage.” For “mask optional on stage” productions, students will be allowed to remove their masks while performing on stage during tech week and live performances but must put their masks back on when leaving the stage.
- For shows performing after July 1 that have already finalized their casts, or for any “mask required” production after July 1, families in the production may choose to move to a “mask optional on stage” experience if the CAST HAS UNANIMOUSLY AGREED via confidential and anonymous consent.

For shows performing after July 1, at least one performance will offer safe social distance seating with the objective to allow every performer the opportunity to perform to an SSD audience. Remaining performances will be fully open with 100% capacity seating.

Beginning July 1, all fully vaccinated youth and adults may enter and move throughout the NTPA facility without a mask. Students will still be required to wear a mask while participating in any “mask required” production or activity.
